College Bound

The New Horizons College Bound program grew out of the need to offer our junior and senior high school students one-on-one help through the many steps to prepare for college. This includes help with everything from resumes, ACT/SAT studies, scholarship applications and college applications. The program is offered on Fridays from 2-4pm during the school year in both Collier and Lee counties.

Post-Graduation Plan

As graduation becomes a reality for our students, they need to develop a plan for what they will do beyond high school.  College Bound gives them the resources and support to develop that plan and put it into action.

Individualized Attention

Our teens have many unique circumstances and interests, so when it comes to applying for college and scholarships, they need individualized attention.  At College Bound, they have a dedicated time to receive help in applying for college/vo-tech scholarships, financial aid and more.

Encouragement

All College Bound students are encouraged to apply for a variety of applicable scholarships from local foundations and organizations.

First-Hand Exerience

Guest speakers from the community are invited to speak to the teens at College Bound on topics ranging from college to budgeting.  Students get first-hand experience at what life beyond high school is like as the take trips to local schools such as Florida Gulf Coast Universty and Florida SouthWestern State College.
