Super Kids Club
Super Kids Club addresses the academic and social needs of at-risk elementary aged children living in Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero and Fort Myers by providing after-school tutoring and mentoring, Monday through Thursday throughout the school year. Over 400 children eagerly come to a Club nearest where they live and go to school to receive the help and encouragement they so desperately need to succeed in school and life. Each year over 150,000 hours of tutoring and mentoring are received by these children.
After School Tutoring and Mentoring
The children, grades K-5, attend Super Kids Clubs to learn in an environment of one on one tutoring and mentoring focused on their specific needs. Volunteers from across our community work with the children helping them to complete their homework and encouraging them to succeed.
Individualized Learning in Math and Reading
Students also receive 45 minutes of math and reading instruction in the computer lab using A+ Learning System (ALS) software which is aligned with Florida Sunshine State standards. The ALS software provides an initial assessment of the students' reading and math skills and then develops individualized instructional lessons to remediate areas of weakness.
Additionally, students have 30 minutes daily for a faith-based character education lesson based on core values of honesty, integrity and personal responsibility using puppets, songs and drama.
Students come to Super Kids Club straight from school and are greeted with snacks and drinks to enjoy before they settle into doing their homework and computer lessons.
Super Kids Club Choir
The Super Kids Choir performs throughout the year at local churches and community events. These opportunities enable the children to develop their social skills, share their faith and feel part of the community.
