Volunteer

New Horizons has many opportunities and ways to volunteer:

  • Tutoring and mentoring elementary aged children one or more days a week, Monday – Thursday, 3:30-5pm during the school year at any of our locations

  • Tutoring and mentoring teens in high school 2-4pm or teens in middle school 4-6pm, Monday – Thursday for one or more days at any of four locations

  • Serving on one of our committees to help with fundraising, marketing, finance, planned giving, and more

  • Teaching a craft or skill to our 4th and 5th grade girls or boys on a Friday afternoon

  • Sharing a career opportunity with the teens

We hope you will join our dedicated team of volunteers that are changing the lives of the youth in our communities!

An outstanding organization, with a much needed mission, achieving exceptional results.

May 2018

New Horizons provides a chance for kids, who otherwise could be at risk, to get a helping hand. It also gives the tutors a chance to make a difference! It begs the question, who is getting more? I think everyone is lucky...they are all changed for the good!!

January 2019

As a volunteer for the past 8 years I can say that it doesn't get any better than tutoring students who are a joy to be with. Seeing their smiling faces and the progress they make from the beginning of the school year to the end is well worth it! ... There is also joy in seeing former students grow and become mature men and women, who strive for excellence and make a difference in their family, community and world.
